ABOUT
Scattered Sage is a collection of articles written to inspire and help people make better short-term decisions to achieve their longer-term goals in life.
These stories are inspired by real life events and experiences. Subjects reach across multiple areas including business, social, professional sport, family, career, health, fitness, relationships and more.
We live in a world of instant gratification. Everyone is in a rush to be successful…to live in the big house…to drive the latest car…to climb the corporate ladder…to build the multi- million-dollar start up business…to sign that professional sports contract…to see their name up in lights.
…but these things take time. Most big things start from small beginnings. It is through learning, trying, failing and experiencing that we develop into our best selves and feel the sense of satisfaction, fulfillment and meaning in our lives that we all want.
Most success in life is achieved when we set goals for ourselves and then take the required short steps over a sustained period of time to reach these goals.
We need to develop a long-term vision. It doesn’t have to be a detailed, concrete vision of the future. Instead, we should have an idea of WHAT we are searching for and WHERE we are aiming to get to. Vision builds by taking action.
It is so important to enjoy the steps along the journey, achieving small wins along the way as one works towards longer-term goals. It is important to enjoy the journey and not just focus on the destination. Have the belief, determination and persistence not to give up in the event of a setback or diversion to that plan.
Most people fall short of their goals because they are not prepared to invest the necessary time and effort in the short term to eventually be where they want to be longer term.
Others may be taking all these short steps but have a clouded vision of WHY they are doing it and WHERE they want to get to. If there isn’t a strong WHY then it will be very difficult to navigate the WHO, WHAT, WHERE and WHEN as you work towards achieving your goals.

PLAY THE LONG GAME.
I hope this site will inspire YOU to do just that.
